Pouding Chômeur (Maple Syrup Cake)

On a cold and rainy fall day, this cake will bring back the sun into your kitchen!
Your children will demand some more!
I serve it warm with vanilla ice cream.

Cake:
1-1/2 cup (375 ml) flour
1 teaspoon (5 ml) baking powder
1/4 cup (60 ml) butter
1 cup (250 ml) sugar
1 cup (250 ml) milk

Maple sauce:
1 cup (250 ml) maple syrup
1 cup (250 ml) brown sugar
1 cup (250 ml) boiling water
1/4 cup (65 ml) butter

1. Preheat oven at 325 F.
2. Mix flour and baking powder.
3. Mix butter and sugar together.
4. Add milk to the flour mix, slowly. Mix together while pouring the milk.
5. Butter a 13x9 inches (32x22 cm) baking dish. Pour the cake mix.
6. Heat all the sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil.
7. Poor sauce over cake mix DO NOT MIX.
8. Cook at 325F for 45 minutes.
